Aloe Vera.....the miracle plant?!
Let me be the first to tell you.......I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH ALOE VERA!!!! I have been using this plant for a number of things for the past few months. Now, I know what you're thinking...."sis what are you talking about?" Well, let me school you on a few things that I use this miracle plant for, BUT first let me give you a little background.
Aloe vera has antioxidant and antibacterial properties and contains healthful plant compounds. Aloe vera is known to reduce dental plaque, improve skin and prevent wrinkles, reduces constipation, accelerates burn healing, treats canker sores, reduces constipation and so much more.
Yes sis......you read correctly. Ok let's break it down. This is what I have found to be the most helpful in my life babes!
NATURAL HAIR HEALER
I have used AV as a pre-poo. For those of you who are not familiar with this term it just means before you shampoo. I let this sit on my hair for about 12-15 minutes. I work this into my scalp for a deep clean.
*HISTORY TIP: Aloe vera contains enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp, conditions your hair, promotes hair growth, and prevents itching.
I have noticed after using AV as a pre-poo, my hair is shinier and my strands feel stronger. Who doesn't want that!
MASK OFF?! NO, BOO! MASK ON
Using AV on the face helps to prevent dryness in the skin which will in turn help to prevent or reduce the appearance of wrinkles. After using an AV mask, my skin IMMEDIATELY felt hydrated and looked brighter. Since AV is natural, it is safe to use daily however, start off slow to see how your skin will react to the gel. If you have sensitive skin, you may not want to use this daily. We want to rid our skin of blemishes and such, not create them...mmmkay?! I used the gel as a mask by itself but you can also use it to create different masks. Such as honey and AV gel.
*HISTORY TIP: Aloe vera has proven to stimulate collagen production, reduce inflammation, fight bacteria, and hydrate/ tighten the skin.
HOLDING WEIGHT?!! LET IT GO SIS.......
AV is natural and has a lot of good nutrients to help your body from the inside out. As stated above, AV can help with constipation and digestion.
*HISTORY TIP: AV has laxative properties and when consumed in small quantities, it may aid in digestion.
I know no one wants to talk about pooping but seriously sometimes your belly bloat comes from just needing to rid your body of all the toxins that was not released from your colon. I would recommend CLEANING the plants first and then removing the gel portion of the plant and using in a smoothie. They do have aloe vera juice that you can buy for the non-messy version, lol.
*BONUS TEA: If you can find some alcohol in the stores, you can make your own hand sanitizer.....IJS
I hope these tips were helpful. Leave a comment if you have used Aloe vera or plan to implement it into your routine. What are some other uses for AV that you have discovered. We are not letting Rona get us down, its still clear skin all 2020!
