Three Detox Bath recipes you'll want to try

I don't know about you but I love that spa feeling at home. Between at home facials, foot massages, and self mani-pedis, its so easy to get that feeling right at home. One spa service that has become a staple in my household has been detox baths. If you never had one, you are most certainly missing out.

Well, have no fear because I am here to help you experience the magic that is detox bathing. Now, you might be asking yourself "what is a detox bath?". A detox bath is a natural way to remove toxins from your body. There are several benefits to detox bathing. Benefits such as: Improving your concentration and focus, helps with muscle function, improves your skin quality, and many more benefits that improve your overall health and immune system. Best benefit of it all.....it just feels good. Convinced yet?! Who doesn't love a good, relaxing bath.

If you are willing to try it, here are my three detox baths that I love using.

(Disclaimer: Detox baths can cause some dehydration. Please keep water by the tub with each bath. Only detox ONCE a week. Please do not do a detox bath before going somewhere)

Ginger Bath

  • 1/3 cup Baking soda

  • 1/3 cup Epsom Salt

  • 3 tablespoons of ground ginger

  • 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother)

  • Warm water

  • Bath for 15 to 45 minutes at a time

Ginger promotes sweating which is obviously a great way to release some of those said toxins. It also helps with aches and pains. ACV (apple cider vinegar) is really good on its own in a bath. It helps to prevent itching and dry skin and also restores the skins pH balance. Baking soda cleanses and detoxifies the body, while epsom salt relaxes your muscles.

Salt Detox Bath

  • 1/4 cup Epsom Salt

  • 1/4 cup Himalayan Salt

  • 1/4 cup Baking Soda

  • 1/3 cup ACV (w/ the mother)

  • 8-10 drops of lavender essential oil

  • Warm water

  • Bathe for 30 minutes or more.

You can use a mason jar to pre make the detox for later use. Just start with mixing the epsom salt, baking salt, and sea salt together. Then seal tight, until you are ready to use. If you are using immediately, add 2-3 cups of boiling water and stir in the salts. Add the AVC and the essential oil of your choice, into the bath water. This bath helps to calm irritating skin and stimulates circulation.

Now this last detox bath is can be very intense. so I would definitely advise anyone trying this to try this detox bath when they are staying home. One of the most intense home detox baths I have tried is the mustard bath.

Mustard Seed Bath

  • 1 cup Epsom Salt

  • 1 cup Mustard powder

  • 1 cup Baking Soda

  • 10 drops of eucalyptus drops

  • 1 leaf of Rosemary

  • Warm water

OR

You can also order Dr. Singha's Mustard Bath which is AMAAAZZZING!!!! Mustard seeds are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. It also stimulates sweating and a LOT of it. It also helps with congestion, circulation, and muscle aches. Just make sure you thoroughly rinse and exfoliate your skin after the bath.

I hope you are able to grab a glass of wine, play that relaxing playlist and soothe in one of these detox recipes before calling it a night. Please let know if you have tried one of these or if you plan too. Leave a comment below and let us know your thoughts.
