2Sense Short: How To Take Time For Yourself

You ever have those moments where you just want to be on a deserted island away from everything and everyone? Lately, we have been feeling this same way. Sometimes you need physical and mental break away from familiar surroundings. In case you can't take a vacation at the moment, here are a few ways you can take time for yourself.





DAILY BREAKS

1. It is important to take a break for yourself, even if it is just 30 minutes a day.

2. Create a workout routine. Even if you are just walking around your neighborhood.


3. Take a warm bath, filled with bubbles and some of your favorite essential oils.

4. Try meditating for 15-20 minutes to clear your thoughts and energize your body.

5. Play games or puzzles that stimulate your mind.




SELF CARE

  1. Get a 30min to 1 hour massage or facial. Your muscles will thank you.

  2. Try a new hair style or even get a good scalp massage. Your muscles in your scalp can become tense as well.

  3. Get your house in order. Work on your finances so you can live to be debt free at any financial stage.

  4. Take yourself out on a solo date. Try going to lunch or dinner by yourself. Treat yourself.

  5. Try solo travel. Traveling by yourself allows you to trust your instincts and intuition.




BOUNDARIES

  1. 'No' is a complete sentence.

  2. When you are asked a question, take up to 7 seconds to think before immediately responding.

  3. Express your needs. It is no one's job to guess how you feel, so let people know what is on your mind and do not make yourself feel guilty for doing so.

  4. Establish a routine for yourself. Setting boundaries for yourself is just as meaningful as setting them for those around you.

  5. Teach others how to treat you for where you are in life right now. Your needs and priorities change as you grow.



SELF APPRECIATION

  1. Accept that you are not perfect and try not to strive for perfection.

  2. Learn to appreciate who you are and tell yourself DAILY that you are enough!

  3. Take time in the morning to do your makeup the way you like it. When you look good, you feel good.

  4. Speak affirmations daily.

  5. Make your bed daily. You deserve the best rest possible so that you can recharge your social, mental, and emotional battery.
