You have been doing the work. You've been working on yourself and working through your triggers. Sometimes it seems as if everything is going smoothly but you're not sure if all the self-work you've been doing is complete or if you are on the right path. Here are 5 signs that let you know you are healing and headed in the right direction.
You've created and stuck to your boundaries:
If you notice that people have been treating you differently; and by differently I mean they are understanding of you and your situation; it is because you are respecting your own boundaries and therefore others are following suit. People will treat you the way you allow them to but also how they see how you treat yourself. By sticking to your boundaries it shows that you care about yourself and that energy attracts others who will honor your boundaries too.
You started saying 'yes' to you and 'no" to everyone else:
Along those same lines as mentioned above. You stopped turning on yourself and you have become your own cheering section. You notice that you have your own back for a change. The boundaries you've created have worked in your favor which makes you feel more and more comfortable speaking up for yourself.
You are not easily triggered:
They say you are not really healed until you are placed in situations that trigger you. Your reactions will tell you if you need more work or if the work you have done has helped in your healing. If you find yourself in a situation where once before it bothered you and now you have nothing but grace to give, you are on the right track to healing. Dealing with the root of what triggers you can and will help to set you free. Triggers can weigh you down emotionally, so you find yourself feeling lighter and less stressed chances are you're headed in the right direction.
You don't mind solitude:
One of the things we have discovered is that when you heal, you don't mind being alone. Sometimes being in a crowd full of people drowns out the noise but solitude helps you to work through the heavy emotions in your heart and mind. These days you enjoy peace and quiet because it helps you to release any burdens and forgive yourself. You get to know yourself and what you need.
You don't mind playing the role of the villain:
Not only is this a sign of healing but also growth. When you become ok with not being everyones favorite, a weight will be lifted off your soul. When you start to stand up for yourself, not everyone will agree with your feelings, your stance, or your healing. However, you become so comfortable with standing up for yourself that you are ok with looking like the bad guy. If that means you have a clear conscious and your intentions are pure, you have become content with occasionally playing the role of the "bad guy."
BONUS: Your life is improving tremendously:
If you have noticed you are attracting new people into your life, your finances have improved, and/or it seems like there is an abundance over your life, it is because you are healing. Letting the past go can be liberating. Letting go of the past, can help you accept what is to come in the future.
